History
Welcome to the Lumpia Throwdown, the premier event for lumpia enthusiasts and culinary experts in Central Texas! Our journey began as a part of the vibrant Adobo Throwdown Cooking Competition and Food Expo 2.0, which took place on the weekend of August 5-6, 2023, in Schertz, Texas. This inaugural event marked a significant milestone in celebrating and showcasing the rich flavors and diversity of Filipino cuisine.
As we continue to grow and evolve, we are thrilled to announce that the next Lumpia Throwdown will coincide with National Lumpia Day on March 16, 2024. This special day will be dedicated to the art and joy of lumpia making, bringing together both home cooks and professional chefs in a festive and competitive spirit. Following this, the Lumpia Throwdown will once again be a highlight of the Adobo Throwdown Cooking Competition and Food Expo 3.0 in August 2024.
