Facebook Live Video Volunteer Procedure

Arrival and Preparation

  1. Arrival:

    • Arrive at the venue by 10:30 AM to check in and prepare for live video coverage.

    • Collect your Volunteer Wristband at the Sign-In Table.

  2. Equipment Check:

    • The following equipment will be provided:

      • 1 Cameraphone mounted on a handheld tripod and attached to a battery pack for extended usage.

      • 1 DSLR Camera for high-quality video footage.

    • Test both devices to ensure they are functioning properly:

      • Check video quality, focus, and sound capture.

      • Confirm the DSLR has sufficient battery power and memory card storage.

      • Ensure the cameraphone is securely attached to the handheld tripod and battery pack is functioning.

  3. Facebook Page Access:

    • Confirm access to the Philippine American Chamber of Commerce-Greater San Antonio (PACC-GSA) Facebook Page for live streaming.

    • Log in to the page or ensure the necessary credentials are available.

  4. Briefing:

    • Meet with the Coordinator to review the event schedule and specific instructions for Facebook Live coverage.

Key Events for Facebook Live Coverage

You are responsible for live streaming the following events (all times are Central Time):

  1. Opening Ceremony/City Proclamation

    • Time: 11:00 AM

    • Location: Main Stage

    • Details: Capture the opening remarks, City Proclamation, and welcoming of guests.

  2. Lumpia Making Demos

    • Time: 12:00 PM

    • Location: Demo Area

    • Details: Stream the demonstration of lumpia-making techniques by chefs or experts.

    • Tip: Focus on close-ups of the lumpia preparation process to engage viewers.

  3. Lumpia Rolling Competition

    • Time: 1:00 PM

    • Location: Competition Area

    • Details: Cover the competition as participants roll lumpia as quickly and neatly as possible.

    • Tip: Capture the excitement and energy of the competition, including the countdown and winner announcement.

  4. Lumpia Eating Competition

    • Time: 2:00 PM

    • Location: Competition Area

    • Details: Stream the fun and competitive atmosphere as participants race to eat lumpia.

    • Tip: Zoom in on participants and their reactions during the competition.

  5. Best Lumpia in San Antonio Announcement

    • Time: 5:30 PM

    • Location: Main Stage

    • Details: Stream the announcement of the winner of the Best Lumpia in San Antonio poll.

    • Tip: Focus on the winner’s reaction and any remarks they make.

  6. Lumpia Throwdown 3.0 Awards Presentation & Raffle Draw

    • Time: After 5:30 PM (following the Best Lumpia announcement)

    • Location: Main Stage

    • Details: Capture the awards presentation for the Lumpia Throwdown 3.0 (Lumpia-Making Competition) and the raffle draw.

    • Tip: Highlight the winners and their prizes, as well as the excitement of the raffle draw.

Facebook Live Streaming Guidelines

  1. Using the Cameraphone and Tripod:

    • Ensure the cameraphone is securely mounted on the handheld tripod for steady shots.

    • Keep the battery pack connected to avoid interruptions during the live stream.

    • Hold the tripod with a firm grip or rest it on a stable surface when stationary.

  2. Starting the Live Stream:

    • Log in to the Philippine American Chamber of Commerce-Greater San Antonio (PACC-GSA) Facebook Page.

    • Navigate to the “Live” option and start streaming a few minutes before the scheduled event time.

    • Provide a brief introduction, such as:

      • “Welcome to National Lumpia Day 2025! We’re live from Kain Na Filipino Cuisine in San Antonio, Texas. Stay tuned for [event name]!”

  3. Engaging the Audience:

    • Speak directly to the audience when appropriate, e.g., “Let us know in the comments if you’ve tried lumpia before!”

    • Respond to live comments/questions if possible.

  4. Capturing the Event:

    • Ensure clear visuals and steady shots by using the handheld tripod.

    • Pan the camera to show the crowd, participants, and key moments.

    • Focus on the main action, such as speakers, competitors, or winners.

  5. Ending the Live Stream:

    • Provide a closing remark, e.g., “Thanks for watching! Stay tuned for more live updates from National Lumpia Day 2025!”

    • End the stream and ensure it is saved on the Facebook Page for future viewing.

Additional Responsibilities

  1. Monitoring Comments:

    • Keep an eye on live comments during the stream and notify the Coordinator if any issues arise.

  2. Collaborating with Other Volunteers:

    • Work with other video volunteers to ensure smooth coverage of overlapping events.

  3. Maintaining Equipment:

    • Ensure the cameraphone and battery pack remain functional throughout the event.

    • Regularly check the DSLR for battery life and storage space.

Shift Wrap-Up

  1. Final Review:

    • Ensure all Facebook Live videos are saved and labeled properly on the PACC-GSA Facebook Page.

    • Notify the Coordinator of any issues or missed moments.

  2. Sign-Out:

    • Return your Volunteer Wristband at the Sign-In Table.

    • Notify the Coordinator that your shift is complete.
